Brighton exit talks have now begun – No rush, intensive talks between clubs and agents – Sport Witness

VfB Stuttgart are in intensive talks with Brighton and Hove Albion and Deniz Undav’s agents about making his loan move a permanent one.

That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who say the Bundesliga side are pushing ahead to try and get the striker signed up permanently.

Undav has been on loan with Stuttgart since the summer and fully enjoyed himself since arriving, bagging 18 goals and ten assists in 29 games in the Bundesliga this season.

He’s been one of the stars of the campaign and fully put a disappointing first season at Brighton behind him, making it clear he wants to stay on a permanent basis.

Stuttgart have a €20m clause make that happen but would prefer to sign the striker for a lesser price and negotiate a different deal with Brighton for the 29-year-old.

Whether the Seagulls are willing to do so remains to be seen, with them likely having kept a close eye on their man as he’s flourished away from the club this season.

Sky report that talks between Brighton and Stuttgart have now begun, with the latter’s sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth, board chairman Alexander Wehrle and co still negotiating the terms with their Premier League counterparts.

The Swabians are under no time pressure as they can still activate the purchase option, they have several weeks after the season comes to an end to do so.

They’ve not only been in intensive talks with Brighton but also Undav’s management, negotiating the striker’s future salary and other things to try and bring the overall cost of the deal down.

It’s unlikely that the deal would collapse due to differences in salary expectations, though, so the focus is very much on the talks with Brighton.
