Oliver Glasner: Big update on Crystal Palace boss and Bayern Munich - sources

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is set to remain at the club despite interest from Bayern Munich, sources have told Football Insider.

The German giants have enquired about the Palace manager’s availability with Thomas Tuchel set to leave the club at the end of this season.

However, it is believed Glasner will not be tempted into leaving Selhurst Park just months into his time with Palace.

The Austrian, 49, signed a contract running until June 2026 after succeeding Roy Hodgson in February.

It is believed a new contract for the former Eintracht Frankfurt boss is not currently in the works despite his success in Croydon.

Instead, talks could open over renewed terms mid-way through the 2024-25 campaign if success continues.

Glasner has led Palace to victory in five of their last six Premier League games – including the 4-0 demolition of Man United last week (6 May).

Glasner not set for new Crystal Palace deal despite strong start

Since he took charge at Selhurst Park, only Man City (nine wins, 29 points) and Arsenal (nine wins, 28 points) have won more points than Palace (six wins, 21 points).

The likes of Jean-Philippe Mateta, Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze have hit top form under his stewardship.

Palace sit 12th in the Premier League and could break into the top half if results elsewhere go their way and they win their final game against Aston Villa on Sunday (19 May).

Glasner is no stranger to success, having won the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2021-22 campaign.

He has also taken charge at Wolfsburg and Austrian side LASK Linz.
