Chelsea have ‘already started negotiations’ with PL club to sign player – Blues ‘willing to pay a lot of money’ – Sport Witness

Last Friday, Sport stated Barcelona sporting director Deco has already contacted Amadou Onana. It was also reported other clubs, including Chelsea, have asked about the Everton star.

This is relayed by Voetbalkrant, who then give their own take on Chelsea’s plan and also Everton’s stance on the 22-year-old.

Sean Dyche’s side are currently in the relegation zone and the midfielder’s focus is to help them continue in the top flight next season. It’s said the Belgium international will leave in the summer and his sale can see Everton improve their finances. It’s claimed Everton don’t intend to sanction his sale for less than €60m.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side aren’t willing to pass up an opportunity to sign Onana and have ‘already started negotiations’ with the Toffees.

The report claims Chelsea’s opening bid may have been lower than the requested fee by the Merseyside club, but make no the details of their offer.

This seems to be ‘part of the game’ of transfer negotiations as Voetbalkrant add the west London club are ‘willing to pay a lot of money’ to acquire the former Lille man’s signature.

Chelsea seem to be keen, but the website don’t mention if Onana is open to joining them in the summer, nor does it say how high the Blues are willing to go.
